Victoria's Multicultural Festival

Victoria's leading multicultural celebration and the peak of Cultural Diversity Week.

MESSAGE FROM THE LORD MAYOR OF MELBOURNE

Melbourne is home to one of the most vibrant, multicultural, inclusive societies in
the world.

We pride ourselves on embracing people from all walks of life. We are home to
people from more than 200 countries, who speak 260 languages and dialects
and practice 135 religious faiths. But we are one Melbourne.

Cultural Diversity Week is a celebration of our rich cultural heritage and an
opportunity to promote social cohesion.

One of the highlights of Cultural Diversity Week is Victoria’s Multicultural Festival,
held at Federation Square. Attracting more than 45,000 people every year,
the festival features colourful dance and musical performances, children’s
activities and a tantalising range of international cuisines to tempt your tastebuds!

It exhibits everything that so many cultures have contributed to the world’s most
liveable city.

The City of Melbourne is proud of our diversity and pleased to once again
support this event. I encourage you all to experience the vibrant and colourful
Victoria’s Multicultural Festival.

Robert Doyle
Lord Mayor
